TIMBER-FRAMED MEDIEVAL MANOR HOUSE, HEREFORD – GRADE II LISTED
Structural Repairs to Timber-Frame, Replacement of Infill Panels and Redecoration

Located on the banks of the River Wye on the outskirts of Hereford, this 16th century timber-framed Manor House, in private ownership, had been inappropriately repaired.

The infill panels had been replaced with modern machine-made bricks on cement mortar. The original historic timber frame had been covered with planted oak facing timbers and imitation oak peg joints. The repairs had been carried out as unauthorised works.

We were instructed by the owners to provide a report with recommendations for the Local Authority’s Conservation Officer.
